An identifier that is already listed, or that another tracked brand or competitor on this website already uses, is refused, and nothing is saved. New AI responses use the change right away. Past responses are reanalyzed only when someone runs the backfill on the Competitors page, which costs credits; this tool never starts it. changes_awaiting_backfill counts the edits waiting for it, not responses.
