Cash dividends paid and dividends per share, by period. Dividends paid (dollars): Cash dividends paid to shareholders in the period. Dividends per share (dollars per share): Dividends declared or paid per share, as the record states which. Default: every period in the latest record (up to three fiscal years, the latest quarter and its prior-year comparative, year to date, trailing twelve months); `period` narrows to one fiscal year or quarter, searching older records, and period='all' returns the full history. Each value carries its exact amount, the field it was read from, its dates, accession and form, and a sec.gov link to the line printing it. Field names differ by company: Dividends paid is read from dividends_paid, cash_dividends_paid, dividends_paid_on_common_stock, common_stock_dividends_paid, dividends_and_dividend_equivalents_paid, dividends_paid_to_common_stockholders, dividends_paid_to_stockholders, common_stock_cash_dividends_paid, dividends_paid_to_common_shareholders, payments_for_dividends_and_dividend_equivalents, dividend_payments, payments_of_dividends; Dividends per share is read from dividends_per_share, dividends_declared_per_share, cash_dividends_declared_per_share, dividends_declared_per_common_share, dividends_paid_per_share, dividends_declared_and_paid_per_share. The company's own headline field is tried first, then these names in order; nothing is estimated or summed. Look-alike fields come back under `related`; if none match, the response says so and lists similar fields. Actual dollars (not millions), shares split-adjusted, a foreign issuer's figures in US dollars.
