Returns SEC Schedule 13D/13G large-ownership filings. With no identity filter, returns the global recent-filing feed; optionally filter by one stock or one filer. WHEN TO USE: User asks who has taken a big stake in a company, or whether an activist investor is involved. Examples: - "Who has a 5%+ stake in Tesla?" - "Is there an activist investor in NVDA?" - "Show recent active 13D/13G stakes" PARAMETERS: - ticker_or_cusip or filer: optional identity filter; provide at most one. Ticker collisions return candidates; use an exact CUSIP to disambiguate - classification: optional active, passive, structural, or unknown filter - filed_from / filed_to: optional inclusive SEC filing-date range (YYYY-MM-DD); filed_from must be on or before filed_to - limit / cursor: page size and opaque continuation cursor; an explicit limit above the caller's tier fails rather than being changed The result preserves unknown structural classifications instead of converting them to passive. WHEN NOT TO USE: - Use get_insider_trades for officer/director Form 4 trades - Use analyze_stock for the synthesized smart-money verdict RETURNS: Cursor-paginated stakes with canonical and source-reported security identity, filer, current and previous ownership, voting power, classification, form, stated purpose, filing identifiers, and source link. Stock filters include exact-CUSIP rows plus official subject-ticker evidence not yet linked to a CUSIP; those rows return cusip null and data_status identifies the limitation.
